As every farmer and gardener knows planting and harvesting have to happen in the correct sequence and at the appropriate time. Try to plant a seed before the ground is ready and nothing will happen. Try to harvest before planting & it is a fruitless task.

The rest of us know this too - but we don't always remember it when we look at our own lives. We want to improve something before we have prepared the ground. We want to feel good about ourselves before we have planted the first seed.
